Mobii Magic at Southborough Nursing Home
At Southborough Nursing Home, part of the Aria Care Group, OMi returned to deliver refresher training and personalised dementia-care sessions using the Mobii Interactive Projector.
Creating meaningful moments through Mobii life story activities
Personalised Dementia Care
The session focused on helping staff re-engage with Mobii’s sensory and life story features so activities could be tailored to each resident’s memories, identity, and family history.
The day included 1-to-1 interactions, family participation, and group engagement, demonstrating how flexible projection-based sessions can adapt across different care scenarios.
Life Story Activities That Spark Recognition and Joy
One of the most memorable parts of the day was a life story session with resident Lesley, who was joined by her husband and son.
Using personalised content created on the Mobii, we were able to show her wedding photos and other significant memories, creating a heartfelt and emotional shared experience.
These tailored sessions are designed to help families and carers connect with loved ones living with dementia in a way that’s engaging, interactive, and deeply meaningful.

1-to-1 Sessions with Residents and Activity Leads
In collaboration with Shobha, the home’s dedicated Activity Coordinator, our team facilitated several 1-to-1 life story and sensory sessions:
- Ruth had a personal session alongside the home’s activity coordinator, creating space for gentle interaction and reminiscence.
- Lillian enjoyed multiple moments of connection with care staff and a close friend, supported by personalised Mobii content.
- Barbara revisited personal photos and memories in a calming session that supported recognition and emotional connection.
- Each session showed how personalised content can bring comfort, familiarity, and joy at different stages of dementia.
Each session was thoughtfully guided and showcased how personalised content can bring comfort, familiarity, and joy to individuals at all stages of dementia.
Group Engagement Around the Table
Later in the day, residents gathered around a table projection session that encouraged shared interaction and cognitive stimulation.
- Xylophone activity for collaborative music-making.
- Multi-layer wipe activity for tactile discovery and satisfaction.
- Colour-in Dogs activity to encourage creativity and gentle hand movement.
- Additional sensory favourites including calming visual activities such as Coral Reef.
These sessions support engagement, reduce anxiety, and encourage movement and conversation in a low-pressure environment.
A Day to Remember
The visit highlighted how Mobii can bring families closer, spark memories, and support wellbeing when used in a thoughtful, personalised way.
OMi remains proud to support Southborough’s team and their continued work creating moments that matter.
